Career Record
Your Career Record is everything that you did at work and in your studies. It has no page limit. Every resume is a choice of bullets from your Career Record. A resume never says anything that your Career Record does not say. Every Verdict also reads your Career Record.
Nothing gets a Verdict until you save a Career Record. After your first save, the app opens your Inbox. On Pro with Autopilot on, Autopilot starts to judge 15 minutes after your last save, or when your agent says start now. A change to your links only does not make it wait. See After you edit.
Fill it from your old resume
Section titled “Fill it from your old resume”Your agent can fill your Career Record from the resume that you already have. Your agent is an AI assistant that you connect to SuperImpress. This spends no Credits.
If no agent is connected, the top of the page has a Connect your agent button. See Connect your agent.
If an agent is connected, the top of the page shows a message to copy: “Fill my SuperImpress Career Record from this resume.” Give your agent your resume as a file or as pasted text, with that message. You can change anything after the agent fills the page. You can also fill the page by hand.
Upload your resume
Section titled “Upload your resume”While your Career Record is empty, you can also upload your resume as a PDF or a Word file (.docx), up to 4 MB. The app reads it into a quick, rough draft. Your agent gives a better result.
The draft is not saved. Check it, fill in what it flags, and then select Save Record. The app flags each field that it could not read, for example a month or a title. It also flags each bullet that has more than one sentence, so that you can split it. Every bullet uses the words from your file. The app does not change them.
SuperImpress does not keep your file. A scanned resume has no text to read, so give it to your agent or fill the page by hand. When your Career Record has something in it, the upload is not offered, because a draft would replace what you saved.
Contact
Section titled “Contact”Only your name is required. You can also give an email, a phone number, and your city and country. If the email field is empty, the app offers your sign-in email.
Links are your profiles, for example GitHub, LinkedIn, Behance, Dribbble, or your own site. You can give up to five. Each resume prints them in its header as links that a reader can click. A link to one piece of work goes on its Role, Project, or other entry. A Link must be a web address. If you leave out https://, SuperImpress adds it.
A Role is one job. It has a company, a title, a start month, and an end month or Present. The newest Roles show first, with current Roles at the top. Each Role can have one Link to its work and up to 30 bullets.
Projects
Section titled “Projects”A Project is something that you built outside a Role. It has a name, one optional Link, optional start and end months, and bullets. Projects give a resume more to choose from, even when you have little work history.
Education
Section titled “Education”An education entry has a qualification, an institution, and its start and end months. Its bullets say what you did while you studied, for example honors, a thesis, clubs, competitions, or teaching. Every resume prints your education.
Skills
Section titled “Skills”When you type a skill, the app suggests names from a list. You can also add a skill that is not on the list.
Optional sections
Section titled “Optional sections”Under “Add a section if you have one”, you can add four more sections:
- Volunteering. This is unpaid work for an organization. It has the same parts as a Role, with one Link and bullets. A resume prints it under its own Volunteering heading, never as a job.
- Certifications. Each one has a name, who issued it, the month of issue, an optional expiry month, and one Link to prove it. A resume prints only the ones chosen for it.
- Publications. Each one has a title, where it was published, the month, and one Link to read it. A resume prints only the ones chosen for it.
- Languages. Each one has a name and a level: Basic, Conversational, Professional, or Native. A resume prints only the ones chosen for it.
Autopilot chooses Languages for a resume only when the role needs them. That is when the Posting asks for a language, or the role works with customers, clients, or partners. It is also when the role is in a place where people speak another language every day.
Bullets
Section titled “Bullets”A bullet is one sentence about something that you did. It must be on one line and under 300 characters. If a save refuses a bullet, the bullet shows the reason.
A bullet with no number in it shows “no number”. This is only a hint, and it does not stop a save. A bullet with an em dash in it shows the hint “A resume reads better without an em dash.”
Resumes print your bullets word for word. Autopilot and your agent choose bullets and put them in order, but they never change the words. To change what a resume says, change the bullet here. See Resumes.
Saving and removing
Section titled “Saving and removing”Your changes wait in a bar at the bottom of the page. The bar says what changed and what you removed, for example “2 bullets removed.” To keep the changes, select Save Record. To remove them, select Discard.
To remove a bullet, a Link, or a whole entry, select its remove button, and then save. When you remove an entry, you also remove its bullets. A save must name each thing that it removes. If your agent leaves out a bullet when it saves, SuperImpress keeps the bullet.
If your agent changed your Career Record after you opened the page, the save stops. The app saves none of your changes. Reload the page to see the newest version.
What a change affects
Section titled “What a change affects”A resume made before a change keeps what it printed, and it shows as Behind. The resume is still correct, because every bullet on it came from you. See Resumes.
A change to your Career Record makes your Verdicts Stale. A change to a Link only does not.
