Boards and Watches

A Board is one company’s hiring board. SuperImpress chooses the Boards, and every Candidate sees the same Boards. A Watch is your interest in one Board. It tells SuperImpress which companies’ Postings to mark and judge for you.

The Boards screen lists every Board. At the top, it shows how many Boards are in the catalog and how many you watch. Beside the title, one line shows when a Board was last scanned and when the next Scan is due.

Each row shows these items:

  • The Watch switch.
  • The company name, with its Company Summary under it.
  • How many Postings are open, and how many of those are Relevant to your Target. If no Scan has read the Board yet, the row says “Not scanned yet”.

The app shows the Relevant count only after you save your Target. Before that, the screen shows a Set your Target button.

The tabs are All and Watching, on both Plans. You can watch every Board on Free and on Pro. See Plans.

To show only some companies, type in the Filter by company box.

To look further, use the small filters under the Filter by company box: Sector, Headquarters, and Size. Each filter lists its options with how many Boards each one shows. After you save your Target, a switch also shows only the Boards with Relevant Postings. The filters stay in the page’s address, so a reload or a shared link shows the same Boards.

SuperImpress recommends up to 10 Boards for you to watch. They are picked from Boards you did not watch yet, with at least one Posting that is Relevant to your Target. Jev, the model that judges Postings, reads your Target, your Work Rights, and the role titles and skills in your Career Record. It reads them against each Board’s Company Brief and the titles of its Relevant Postings. It does not read your name, your contact details, or your bullets.

Each Recommended Board has a short reason, for example “Hires for the work you do · 4 Relevant open”. While you have Recommended Boards, the Boards screen sorts them first and marks each one “Recommended”. Until you watch your first Board, they also show at the top of the Boards screen, with a Watch all button.

When you watch a Recommended Board, it stays in the list with its switch on, and no other Board takes its place. The list changes only when you change your Target, Work Rights, or Career Record: a few minutes after you save, SuperImpress picks up to 10 again from the Boards you do not watch.

SuperImpress never watches a Board for you. Recommendations cost no Credits, on Free and on Pro.

To watch a Board, turn on its switch. SuperImpress then marks Relevance on the open Postings of that Board. Its Relevant Postings go to your Inbox immediately. On Pro with Autopilot on, Autopilot then starts to judge them inside your Daily Credit Limit.

To stop watching a Board, turn off its switch. Its Postings leave your Inbox, and new Scans do not mark its Postings for you. Your Decisions, Applications, resumes, and letters for its Postings stay.

The Company Summary is one short sentence about what the company does. It shows under the company name.

The Company Brief is a longer description of the company. The SuperImpress team writes it. It has five sections:

  • What they do
  • What they value
  • Where they hire
  • Teams and roles
  • What they look for

Every Verdict reads the Company Brief. Every resume and letter for the Postings of that Board also reads it.

To open the Company Brief beside the list, select the company name or Brief. The first three sections are open. To open the other sections, select them. This panel also shows the Watch switch, the counts, and the last Scan. It also has a Careers link to the company’s own hiring page, and an Open page link.

Each Board has its own page, at /boards/<slug>. You can keep this link or send it to someone. The page shows these items:

  • The Company Summary and the Watch switch.
  • A Careers link.
  • The full Company Brief, with every section open.
  • How many Postings are open, how many are Relevant to your Target, and the last Scan.

A Scan is one read of a Board. SuperImpress scans each Board about every six hours, even when nobody watches it. A Scan records which Postings are new, changed, and gone. When a Scan no longer sees a Posting, SuperImpress closes the Posting. SuperImpress never deletes a Posting.

After each Scan, SuperImpress marks Relevance for you on the new and changed Postings of the Boards that you watch. The Company Brief panel and the Board page show the last Scan, for example “06:02 today · 3 new”.

When three Scans of a Board fail one after another, the Board is failing. Its row shows the last error and the times of the failed Scans. The row also says that the operator knows about the failure. The open count comes from the last Scan that worked.

You do not have to do anything. The next Scan that works removes the error.
