Tools reference

Your agent uses these tools for you. You do not call a tool yourself. You ask in plain words, and your agent picks the tool.

Every tool works as you, under the same rules as the app. No tool takes a file, and no tool spends Credits itself. When SuperImpress refuses a call, it tells your agent why and what to change.

On Pro with Autopilot on, a Posting that your agent pursues or adds starts Autopilot’s resume, which spends Credits. The app does the same. To stop this, switch Autopilot off. While your agent works, Autopilot does not start that resume. Your agent can save its own resume with asset. If it does not, Autopilot writes the resume when it starts again: after 30 minutes, or when your agent says start now.

Some tools also give your agent rules, such as “record a Decision only when the Candidate makes it”. SuperImpress cannot force your agent to follow these rules. It enforces only the refusals on this page.

It tells your agent what you still need for a full Inbox: a Target, a Career Record, and a Watch. It also gives your Plan, whether Autopilot is on, your Credit balance on Pro, and which piece to fill in next. When nothing is missing, it counts the Relevant Postings in your Inbox that have no Decision yet.

Ask: “What do I still need to set up?”

It refuses nothing. It only suggests. Every other tool works in any order.

It lists the Relevant Postings on the Boards that you watch, if they have no Decision yet. It lists them newest first, 25 to a page by default. When a Posting has a Verdict, the list shows its label, its Score, a short reason, and whether the Verdict is Stale. The list also shows whether a judgment of the Posting is in progress. It never includes the text of a Posting.

Your agent can ask for one Board only. It can also ask for one label only:

  • strong, stretch, or skip.
  • unjudged: the Posting has no Verdict yet.
  • waiting: the Posting has no Verdict yet. Autopilot will judge it when the thing that it waits for arrives: your Career Record, Credits, tomorrow’s Daily Credit Limit, or the next Scan.

Your agent can also sort by Score. Then the Postings with a Verdict come first, highest Score first, and the Postings with no Verdict come last. The answer counts how many Postings have each label.

Ask: “What is new in my Inbox?”, “What is new at Postman?”, or “Show me my strong Postings, best first.”

It refuses nothing.

It reads one Posting: the company, title, location, link, and dates. It says whether the Posting is remote when the Board said so. A posting that you added has no remote answer, because no form asks you. It also gives the Company Brief, your Decision, the Verdict that stands, and who wrote that Verdict.

It gives the text of the Posting only when your agent asks for it. SuperImpress labels that text untrusted, because the company or you wrote it.

Ask: “Tell me about the Postman Product Engineer role.”

It refuses a Posting that does not exist.

It writes a Verdict on one Posting: strong, stretch, or skip. The Verdict has these Levels:

  • A Level for each Check: Work, Requirements, Seniority, and Industry.
  • A Level for each gate: the right to work, a security clearance, a language, and a degree. A gate is not asked, met, not met, or not stated in your record.
  • A Level for the Location: open, relocation offered, or closed to where you can work.

SuperImpress calculates the Score from the Levels, the same way as for Autopilot. A gate that is not met, or a closed Location, holds the Score at 30 or less. A closed Location makes the Verdict a skip. A Location with relocation offered makes the Verdict a stretch at most.

SuperImpress never overwrites a Verdict. If your agent judges a Posting again, it writes a new Verdict. Each Verdict records that your agent wrote it. SuperImpress tells your agent to read the text of the Posting and your Career Record first. It also tells your agent to claim nothing that your Career Record does not say.

Ask: “Judge the Postings that have no Verdict yet.”

It also judges a posting that you added. Nothing judges a posting that you added on its own, so your agent writes a Verdict only when you ask. This is how you get a Verdict on one without spending Credits.

Ask: “Read that Reddit posting against my record.”

SuperImpress does not let your agent judge:

  • A Posting from a Board that is not Relevant to your Target. A posting that you added does not have this limit.
  • Any Posting before you have a Career Record.
  • A Posting that does not exist.

It records your Decision on a Posting. When your agent pursues a Posting, SuperImpress opens an Application. The answer tells your agent whether Autopilot started its resume. If it did, the answer also tells how many Credits the resume spends. Autopilot spends them only when the resume is stored, so a failed resume spends nothing. A dismissal needs one of these reasons:

  • Wrong discipline
  • Not interested in the company
  • Location or remote policy
  • Compensation
  • Already applied elsewhere

A dismissal can also have a note in your words, up to 500 characters. SuperImpress tells your agent to record a Decision only when you make it.

Ask: “Pursue the Postman Product Engineer role.”

SuperImpress does not let your agent change a Decision. After you pursue or dismiss a Posting, that Decision stays until you restore it. A posting that you added is pursued from the moment that you add it. So decide answers that it is already pursued, and changes nothing. It also refuses a Posting that does not exist.

It takes back a dismissal. The Posting has no Decision again and goes back to your Inbox. The old reason and note are deleted.

SuperImpress tells your agent to restore a Posting only when you ask.

Ask: “Bring back the Meesho frontend role I dismissed.”

SuperImpress does not let your agent restore a Posting that you pursued. A posting that you added is pursued, so it has no dismissal to take back. It also refuses a Posting that does not exist.

It adds a posting that you found somewhere that SuperImpress does not watch. It takes the company, the role, the text of the advert, and a location and a link if you have them. Adding a posting means that you are pursuing it. So SuperImpress opens its Application at Pursuing at once, marked Private. The answer tells your agent whether Autopilot started its resume. If it did, the answer also tells how many Credits the resume spends. Autopilot spends them only when the resume is stored, so a failed resume spends nothing. SuperImpress only shows the link, and it never opens it. SuperImpress labels the text of the advert untrusted, because the person who wrote the advert wrote it.

The same tool edits a posting that you added, for example to correct a bad paste. An edit replaces everything that you typed, so a location or link that the edit leaves out is cleared. The tool can also delete a posting that you added. It makes one of the three changes in each call.

SuperImpress tells your agent to add a posting only when you ask, and to paste the advert as you gave it.

Ask: “Add this Reddit posting” or “Correct the company on that LinkedIn one. It is Supabase.”

SuperImpress does not let your agent:

  • Add a second posting with the same link.
  • Add a posting with no company, no role, or no advert.
  • Add an advert longer than 20,000 characters.
  • Delete a posting after its Application has a resume, letter, or message. Close its Application instead.
  • Change a Posting from a Board. Everyone who watches that Board shares it.
  • Make no change, or more than one change, in the same call.

It reads what you keep in SuperImpress, and changes nothing. Your agent names what it wants, one or more of these:

  • Your Target.
  • Your Work Rights.
  • Your Career Record, with the email that you sign in with.
  • Your Kits.
  • The list of Skills.

The answer holds only what your agent named. It only reads, so an agent that asks you before each change does not need to ask you before this call. To change one of these, your agent uses target, work_rights, record, or kits.

Ask: “What is in my Career Record?” or “What is my Target?”

It refuses a call that names nothing. The refusal lists the five things that it can read.

It lists every Board, and changes nothing. For each Board, it shows:

  • Whether you watch it.
  • How many Postings are open.
  • How many Postings are Relevant to your Target.
  • The Company Summary, one sentence on what the company does.

The posting tool gives the whole Company Brief.

The catalog is long, so your agent can ask for less of it. It can ask for only the Boards that you watch, only the companies whose name holds some text, or one page of the list. It can also ask for the list without the Company Summaries.

Ask: “Which Boards fit me?”

It refuses nothing. To watch a Board, your agent uses boards.

It watches or stops watching one Board, or several Boards in one call. The Relevant Postings of a Board that you watch are in your Inbox at once. The answer lists the Boards as catalog does, so your agent can ask for less of the list here too.

SuperImpress tells your agent to propose Boards with its reasons, and to watch only the Boards that you choose.

Ask: “Watch Postman and Zepto.”

Your agent can watch every Board, on Free and on Pro. SuperImpress refuses only a Board that does not exist.

It replaces all of your Target. To read your Target, your agent uses candidate. A Target has these parts:

  • Title terms to include.
  • Title terms to exclude.
  • Locations. A country covers the places in it, so “India” keeps a Posting in Bengaluru.
  • Whether remote work from anywhere is acceptable.
  • Your experience in years and months.
  • Optional: the kinds of work you take (full-time, part-time, contract, internship). None means any kind. A Posting that does not say its kind always passes.
  • Optional: the least pay you take, as an amount, a currency, and per year or per month. A Posting that pays less gets a lower Score. It still reaches your Inbox. Pay in another currency or per hour is converted roughly.

If your agent leaves out the kinds of work or the least pay, SuperImpress keeps what you had. If it sends null, SuperImpress clears it.

When your agent replaces your Target, SuperImpress marks Relevance again at once. The answer lists each Board whose count of Relevant Postings changed. On Pro, the answer also says when Autopilot starts judging again. See After you edit. SuperImpress tells your agent to ask you for title terms, exclusions, locations, and remote, because a résumé cannot say what you want.

Ask: “Add product engineer to my Target.”

SuperImpress refuses a Target with experience outside 0 to 60 years, or outside 0 to 11 months.

It replaces all of your Work Rights: where you can work. This is not where you want to work: that is your Target. To read your Work Rights, your agent uses candidate. For each country, or a bloc such as the EU, you say one of these:

  • Free to work: you are a citizen, a permanent resident, or on a permit that is not tied to one employer.
  • Can transfer my visa: you are on a work visa that a new employer can take over.
  • Needs sponsorship: an employer must sponsor a visa for you.

A time-limited permit can have the month it ends. After that month, the country counts as not listed. Your daily digest tells you the month before. Each country can also carry a security clearance that it issued you: its level, and whether it is active.

A Posting only in countries that you did not list fails Relevance. It stays in your Inbox under the Postings that failed. If you list nothing, no Posting fails for this reason. When your agent replaces your Work Rights, SuperImpress marks Relevance again at once, as for a Target. Verdicts that read your old Work Rights become Stale.

Ask: “I’m a citizen of India and I need sponsorship in the UK.”

SuperImpress refuses a place that is not a country code or a known bloc, and a place listed twice.

It changes your Career Record. To read your Career Record, your agent uses candidate. The Career Record has these parts, each with its bullets where it has them:

  • Roles.
  • Projects: something that you built or made outside a role.
  • Volunteering entries: unpaid work, recorded like a role.
  • Certifications: a name, an issuer, the month it was issued, and the month it expires, if it does.
  • Publications: a title, where it was published, and a month.
  • Education: its bullets are what you did while you studied.
  • Languages, each with a level: basic, conversational, professional, or native.
  • Your Contact, with up to five links.

In one call, the tool makes one change. It can replace the whole Career Record, set your languages, or add, edit, or remove one role, project, volunteering entry, certification, publication, education, or bullet. The candidate tool gives your agent the list of Skills.

SuperImpress tells your agent to write only what you said, in your words. It tells your agent to read an existing Career Record first and propose changes to it. On Pro, the answer to a change says when Autopilot starts judging again. See After you edit.

The candidate tool also gives your agent the email that you sign in with. If your Contact has no email, your agent must offer you that email, and write it only if you say yes. If your phone number has no country code, your agent must suggest one.

Ask:

  • “Add a bullet to my Acme role: I led the checkout rewrite.”
  • “Add my tinyforms project from my old resume, with its GitHub link.”
  • “Add a bullet to my degree: I led the college coding club.”
  • “Add my mentoring at Civic Code Collective as volunteering.”
  • “Add my AWS Certified Developer certification from June 2024, with its Credly link.”

Your Contact links are your profiles and your site. A link to specific work goes on its role, project, volunteering entry, certification, or publication. Each of these has at most one link. SuperImpress adds https:// to a link that has no scheme.

SuperImpress does not let your agent:

  • Save a bullet of more than one sentence.
  • Replace the Career Record in a way that removes a part that the replace does not name as removed. The refusal lists the parts that the replace leaves out.
  • Change a role, project, volunteering entry, certification, publication, education, or bullet that your Career Record does not have.
  • Save a role, project, volunteering entry, or education that ends before it starts.
  • Save a certification that expires before it was issued.
  • Save a language level that is not basic, conversational, professional, or native.
  • Save a link that is not a web address, or a sixth link on your Contact.

After you save your Target or Career Record, Autopilot waits 15 minutes before it judges. While your agent judges Postings, saves Assets, pursues Postings, or adds Postings, Autopilot waits until 30 minutes after its last such action, so the two do not do the same work. This tool tells Autopilot to start now. Autopilot then judges every Posting that waited, and writes each resume that waited, within your Daily Credit Limit. The answer says how many Postings Autopilot started to judge. SuperImpress tells your agent to use this tool when you say that your edits are done, and when your agent finishes its own work.

Ask: “I’m done with my Career Record. Start judging.”

It switches Autopilot on or off for you. The answer says whether Autopilot is on, and how many of today’s Included Verdicts it has used. Your agent still never spends Credits itself.

Ask: “Turn on Autopilot.”

It refuses to switch Autopilot on:

  • Before you have a Target, a Career Record, and a Watch. The refusal names each of these steps that you have not done.

It lists your open Applications, with the one that is longest at its Stage first. Each Application shows its Stage, how many days it is at that Stage, and how many Assets it has. An Application on a posting that you added is marked Private, so your agent knows that no Board is behind it. Your closed Applications are in a separate list, each with the reason that it closed. The list never includes the text of a Posting.

Ask: “Where do my Applications stand?”

It refuses nothing.

It moves an Application to another Stage: pursuing, applied, response, interview, or offer. SuperImpress dates a move forward today, unless you give a date. The date cannot be in the future. A move back undoes a mistake: the Application forgets the Stages after the one that it goes back to, and that Stage keeps its date. The tool can close an Application instead, with one of these reasons:

  • Rejected
  • I withdrew
  • No response
  • The Posting closed
  • I accepted elsewhere

A close can also have a note in your words.

Ask: “Move my Postman Application to interview.”

SuperImpress does not let your agent:

  • Change an Application that is closed.
  • Move and close in the same call.

It also refuses an Application that does not exist.

It lists every resume that you have, newest first. A resume in a Kit shows the name and Angle of the Kit. A resume on an Application shows its company, title, and Stage. Each resume shows:

  • How many versions it has.
  • Who made the newest version, and when.
  • Whether it is Behind, which means that your Career Record changed after the newest version. The tool reports this for every resume. On an Application, it matters only while the Application is at Pursuing.

Ask: “Which of my resumes are behind?”

It refuses nothing. It only reads. The candidate tool lists your Kits, the kits tool makes a Kit, and the asset tool saves a version.

It changes your Kits. To read your Kits, your agent uses candidate. The list has the Kit that you worked in most recently first. Each Kit shows its name, its Angle, and the company, if you named one. Each Kit has three slots: a resume, a cover letter, and an outreach message. For each slot, the list shows how many versions it has, who made the newest version, and when. It also shows whether the resume is Behind.

In one call, the tool makes one change:

  • Create a Kit from a name, an Angle, and a company if you want one.
  • Edit the name, Angle, or company of a Kit.
  • Delete a Kit with everything in it.

A new Kit is empty until your agent saves something in it with the asset tool. SuperImpress tells your agent to delete a Kit only when you ask.

Ask: “Make me a Kit for fintech frontend roles” or “What is in my Kits?”

SuperImpress does not let your agent:

  • Give a Kit an empty name or Angle.
  • Give a Kit a name longer than 60 characters, or an Angle longer than 200 characters.
  • Make more than one change in the same call.

It also refuses a Kit that does not exist. Your agent can make a Kit before your Career Record has a bullet. Only a resume in the Kit needs a bullet.

It saves a resume, cover letter, or outreach message for an Application or in a Kit, as the next version of its kind. Your agent names the Application or the Kit, not both.

For a resume, your agent sends a headline and the Career Record bullets to use, in order. It also names the Contact links to put in the header. SuperImpress renders those bullets word for word, on one page, and prints only the links that your agent names. Your agent can also name the certifications and publications to print. SuperImpress prints each one as one line with its link. Your agent can also name the languages to print. SuperImpress tells your agent to name them only when the Posting needs a language, as a sales or marketing role often does. The answer gives the version, a link to download the PDF, and a link to the web page. The links work for one hour. It also says whether the PDF is available: on Pro it is, and on Free the PDF is on Pro. On Free, the PDF link opens a page that says “Download PDF is on Pro”, with a link to the web page.

For a cover letter or outreach message, your agent sends the text that it wrote. The answer gives the version. SuperImpress does not compare the text with your Career Record. Check the letter yourself before you send it.

An outreach message is addressed to a person only when you name the person and say how you know them. If not, it is unaddressed.

Ask: “Draft a cover letter for my Postman Application.”

SuperImpress does not let your agent save:

  • A resume with a bullet, certification, or publication that your Career Record does not have.
  • A resume that names the same bullet, certification, or publication two times.
  • A resume with a link that is not in the Contact of your Career Record, or the same link two times.
  • A resume that names a language that your Career Record does not have, or the same language two times.
  • A resume that is longer than one page. The refusal names the bullets that did not fit.
  • A resume headline that names a Skill that your Career Record does not have.
  • A resume in a Kit before your Career Record has a bullet. The refusal says your Career Record has no bullets yet.
  • A letter or message before you have a Career Record.
  • An outreach message on an Application that does not include the link of its Posting, when the Posting has a link.

It also refuses an Application or a Kit that does not exist, and a call that names both or neither. SuperImpress sends nothing. You send every letter and message yourself.
